Amina Farah

Emerging Voice 2011

Amina Farah is a Somali-Canadian writer who has roots in Nairobi, Vancouver and now calls Toronto home. She has worked as a teacher and youth worker in six different communities across Canada and is working on her MFA in creative writing at the University of Guelph. She is inspired to write by a loud family of brilliant storytellers and a deep need, born of her twelve year old nerdy self, to one day check her own book out at the public library.
