Billy Jo Tabobondung

Billie Jo Tabobondung is a first generation “urban nish.” She is a fine artist working in various mediums; her paintings and sculptures have been showcased in several events, and her multi-layered, audio theatre piece titled The UrbaNish was aired on CBC Radio. She has been awarded with the Norman & Margaret Jewison Charitable Foundation award for First Nations Artist and the Charles Street Video art prize, for proficiency in audio production. Tabobondung uses spoken word to represent her perspective on being an urban anishnabe woman, mother and artist.
