David Ferry

David Ferry is the current Consulting Artistic Director of Resurgence Theatre Company in Newmarket, Ontario where he directed Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and Lanford Wilson’s Talley’s Folly for the 2006 season. Recently he directed Hank Williams, the Show He Never Gave (2006 Dora Award nominee for best production). In 2005 he directed the acclaimed Canadian premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis’s The Last Days of Judas Iscariot for Toronto’s Birdland Productions, which garnered nine 2006 Dora nominations and five Dora awards, including best director, best production and best lighting for David and Glenn Davidson. He also directed Fully Committed starring Peter Kelleghan for Mayfair Productions and The Taming of the Shrew for ShakespeareWorks. David directed the premiere of a new Canadian play (Alias Godot by Brendan Gall) for the Festival InterCity in Florence, Italy in August of 2006. In 2007 he directed the Canadian premieres of 36 Views and Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman, both in Toronto.
