Dorianne Emmerton

Emerging Voice 2010

Dorianne Emmerton

Dorianne Emmerton writes stories, plays and screenplays. She has had short plays produced at a number of festivals, most notably (or at least the farthest away from Toronto) by the Looking Glass Theatre Company in New York City.

Her short film The One Time Tom Saw Bill On The Street was screened at queer film festivals across North America. Her feature length horror film, The Modern Things was produced by Raised Eyebrow Productions and her third film, the comedic short Dollars and Scents was produced by Meow Films.

She was thrilled to be accepted into the 2010 Diaspora Dialogues mentorship program in the category of fiction. Her short story "Personal Treasures" appears in the anthology TOK 6, which was released in Spring 2011. The current issue of the Mad Hatter's Review, an annual online multimedia magazine, features her experimental short story "Rejoyce, Rejoyce, The End Is Nigh".

She also writes erotica under the mononym Dorianne. Her erotic stories have been published in the now defunct Toronto-based SMUT Magazine, in the recent anthology The Mammoth Book of Threesomes and Moresomes and in the first edition of the upcoming Lover Magazine.
