Janice Goveas

Janice Goveas has an M.F.A in Creative Writing from Goddard College in Vermont and an M.A. in Spanish Literature from Syracuse University. Her short stories, Josephine Was Mine and Cough, and a section of her novel, Janiki’s Wedding, have been published in the magazine Pitkin in Progress.
Her play, Philomena Across Time, was produced by Theatre Unbounded in Syracuse in 2001 and SAWITRI in Toronto.
Goveas co-authored the play, Savita Weds Satish, with SAWITRI which was performed at a recent South Asian festival; it was also performed at the AIDS conference, where it was sponsored by a South Asian AIDS-awareness group.
