Marjorie Chan

Marjorie is a writer based in Toronto. Her works have been performed in Canada, the U.S., Hong Kong, and Rostova, Russia. Marjorie’s playwriting debut, China Doll, was nominated for a Dora (Outstanding New Play), as well as the Governor General’s Award. Her other full-length plays include a nanking winter and The Madness of the Square which both played at the Factory Theatre. As a librettist, Marjorie has written Mother Everest, as well as Sanctuary Song, which was recognized with a Dora Award for Outstanding New Opera. She has been in residence with Cahoots Theatre Projects, Theatre Direct Canada, SUNY (Geneseo, New York) and most recently with Theatre du Pif (Hong Kong).
