Sarena Parmar

Emerging Voice 2008

Sarena Parmar is an acting graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada. Playwriting credits include: Inheritance, which received dramaturgical support from Diaspora Dialogues. Through the Lens presented at the Youth Reading Series (Summerworks 2008) and Crapshoot (Theatre Passe Muraille). Sarena was also Intern Producer at CrossCurrents 2008 (Factory Theatre) and Managing Director of the DISHOOM! South Asian Theatre Festival. Acting credits include: Lost Voices (Topological Theatre), Iphigenia at Aulis (Summerworks), Beneath the Banyan Tree (Theatre Direct), Midsummer Night’s Dream (The Canadian Stage Company)

Upcoming: This year Sarena will be part of the Cahoot Theatre’s Playwright’s Hot House, working on The Untitled Cherry Orchard Project.
