Adwoa Badoe’s books include a collection of folktales, a number of trade picturebooks, as well as readers for educational markets. Her Young Adult novel, Between Sisters, explores the life of a teenager who strives to live her dreams in the city. ALUTA, which won the Children’s Africana Book Award, follows the story of an idealistic female student leader during a military coup d’état in Ghana. Badoe has won a number of awards for the arts and for literature. She is known internationally for vibrant presentations which centre on writing, oral literature, and African dance expressions. She lives in Ontario and is married with three adult children.
