Esther Jun was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She moved to Vancouver after high school and did two years of an undergraduate degree in theatre at UBC before moving to NYC to do the acting program at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. After graduation she worked in New York for one year before moving to Toronto where she spent four years doing commercials and tiny parts on television. Jun then moved to London, England to take the directing program at Drama Centre London. She directed and produced two shows for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and completed her first short film which appeared in the Calgary Fringe Film Festival and "Where is the Love?" Festival in Bucharest, Romania. She returned to Toronto in October and is directing Between the Tree and Sweetest Pea for the New Ideas Festival at Alumnae Theatre.
