evalyn parry is a theatre director, writer, educator, performer and musician. Winner of the 2013 KM Hunter Award for Theatre, the 2009 Ken McDougall Award for Directing, and 2013 Dora nominee for Best Director, evalyn has been the head of the Young Creators Unit at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre since 2007 and has helped create over 40 new works by young queer artists. Other credits include director / dramaturge of Obaaberima by Tawiah M’Carthy (2013 Dora-winner for Best Production), playwright / performer with the Independent Aunties (Clean Irene & Dirty Maxine, Breakfast) and writer/performer of SPIN (which has toured extensively around Canada and the US, returning to Buddies in 2014).
