A finalist for the City of Toronto Book Award and named "Toronto’s Best Emerging Author" by NOW magazine, Lauren Kirshner is a novelist, freelance writer and arts educator. Her first novel, Where We Have to Go (M &S) was called a “strong original debut” by The Globe and Mail and published in Holland and Germany and the U.S. Lauren’s other writing has appeared in publications including The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, ELLE CANADA, THIS, NOW, Taddle Creek, Quill and Quire, and Exile. Lauren is the founder of Sister Writes, a creative writing program for marginalized women, and is an instructor of creative writing at Ryerson University.
