Mel Hague is a Toronto based dramaturge. She is the Play Development Coordinator at Obsidian Theatre Company, and the founder of the WOW Project. Mel has worked with Factory Theatre, Fu-Gen Asian Canadian Theatre Company, bcurrent performing arts, the Paprika Festival, Mulgrave Road Theatre, the Banff Playwrights Colony, Nightswimming Theatre, and Eastern Front Theatre. Other theatre credits include The Invisible Girl (Assistant Director), Young People’s Theatre. Mel has also served as a Jury Member on the Ontario Arts Council Theatre Projects Grants. She has written play notes included in Joseph Jomo Pierre’s Shakespeare’s Nigga, published by Playwrights Canada Press. Mel has an MFA in Playwriting and New Play Dramaturgy from York University.
