Melanie Brouzes is a theatre artist from Winnipeg. Some of her earlier plays were presented at the Winnipeg Fringe, and over a dozen of her biographical articles of Métis elders and veterans have been published in The Grassroots News. Brouzes has directed numerous plays including: Leonard Cohen’s The New Step (University of Winnipeg), Eufemia Fantetti’s It’s All the Rage, and Mary Humphrey Baldridge’s Ruth & Robert & Robert & Ruth (both for Sarasvati Productions). She has performed the roles of Zhaboonigan in Thompson Highway’s Rez Sisters (Prairie Theatre Exchange) and Melissa in Doug Nepinak’s BBQ (As The Bannock Burns Theatre), and currently works as Drama Resource Coordinator for the Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
