Yvette is an associate editor at a trade magazine in Toronto and an aspiring writer. Born in Toronto to Trinidadian parents, she has been writing for several years on issues that largely deal with race, women and relationships. She has written poetry (one poem was published in Black Girl Talk, an anthology of women’s writings), short stories and three novels, which are unpublished. She has participated in a creative writing workshop led by writer Austin Clarke and in the Humber School for Writers Summer Workshop at Humber College.
