James Harbeck

WRITER/MENTEE
James Harbeck is an experienced editor and speaker. He has an MA in linguistics and a PhD in theatre. He is the author of the blog Sesquiotica, co-founder of the group blog Strong Language, and author of numerous articles on sites such as TheWeek.com, BBC.com, and Slate.com, as well as of the books Confessions of a Word Lush, Songs of Love and Grammar, and 12 Gifts for Writers. He is a popular presenter at ACES and Editors Canada conferences, and this year he’s sharing the fruits of his graduate research in linguistics.
James is a Short Form 2007 mentee and worked with Molly Peacock.
