Inanimate Object

Write a monologue from the point of view of an inanimate object. Doll, tree, garbage can, iPhone, hockey stick . . . the choices are endless. What does the object grapple with? Think of its wants and needs. What does the object experience through the senses? For example, in Sylvia Plath’s poem “Mirror” we discover the following:
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is a part of my heart. But it flickers.
Inhabit the world of the inanimate and bring its hidden voice to life.
