Jesset Karlen

Jesset is a writer who has served as a judge for various literary awards and contents, including the Red Cedar Childrens Literature Award. In 2023 he was runner up in Vocal Media’s flash fiction contest: Tall Tales. He has worked as a bookseller for over six years at a speciality children’s bookstore making in depth recommendations to readers of all ages. He is completing his MFA in creative writing at UBC and holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Fantasy is close to his heart, and he hopes to write stories that readers can hold close to their hearts years after reading.

Jesset is a DD 2022 mentee who worked with Kenneth Oppel.
