WORD ON THE STREET: Diaspora Dialogues Literary Scavenger Hunt Clues

Join us on Sunday September 29, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM for an exciting literary scavenger hunt that will lead Torontonians on a journey filled with poetic clues, hidden books, personalized readings, and literary surprises!
With a focus on urban ecology and sustainable neighborhoods, artists and writers will provide the clues for participants to collect on their hunt. Individuals or small groups who complete the challenge can win a book of their choosing from our prize table. Family-friendly, this event promises fun for all ages.
SEE CLUES BELOW:
1. Find a poet wearing a Diaspora Dialogues badge that reads “I AM A CLUE”. They will write you an original one-sentence poem. Keep it and show it to us to receive a stamp.
2. Make your way over to the ECW tent. Write down what ECW stands for below (wrong answers only!), show it to the people staffing the tent and get a stamp. ____________________________
3. Collect a comic panel from a graphic novelist wearing a Diaspora Dialogues badge that reads “I AM A CLUE”. Show it to us, and receive a stamp.
4. Make your way over to the Humber Literary Review tent. Show the people staffing the tent the answer to this question: Which award-winning Canadian poet helped establish The Humber Literary Review in 2014? __________________________
5. Find the Diaspora Dialogues quote box. Inside are literary quotations. Collect one and show it to us to receive a stamp.
6. What is your favourite Canadian book? Look for a volunteer with a Diaspora Dialogues badge that reads “I AM A CLUE” carrying a big book and write your answer in there then collect a stamp. The final collection of answers will be posted later online on www.diasporadialogues.com
7. Enjoy a monologue performance by a theatre artist wearing a Diaspora Dialogues badge that reads “I AM A CLUE”,, after which you will collect a stamp.
8. Find a writer wearing a Diaspora Dialogues badge. They will read you a short passage from their book. Listen carefully, because at the end they’ll ask you a question, for which you’ll write the answer here: _________________________________
9. Who is your favourite Canadian author? Look for a volunteer with a Diaspora Dialogues badge that reads “I AM A CLUE” carrying a big book and write your answer in there then collect a stamp. The final collection of answers will be posted later online on www.diasporadialogues.com
10. Attend any session at the Canadian Magazines Tent. Collect a handout and show it to us when you hand in your completed checklist to get a stamp.
11. Snap a picture at the Robert Munsch Activity Tent photo booth. Show it to us and collect a stamp.
12. On your mobile device, update your social media status to read: I’m part of the Diaspora Dialogues literary scavenger hunt! Show it to us to get a stamp.
