Adam Elliott Segal

Winner of the 2020 Toronto Star Short Story Contest (“Burning”) and nominated for a National Magazine Award (“The Dahlia”), Adam Elliott Segal has published award-winning fiction and nonfiction in leading Canadian magazines and newspapers over the last 15 years including the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Maisonneuve, subterrain (“The Market Baby,” “Richard”), and The Feathertale Review (“Berman is Smoking”) among others. He authored the bestselling Basketball Now! Series (Firefly Books) and is a graduate of the Humber School for Writers, where he worked with acclaimed novelist Joe Kertes on Track, which was shortlisted for the Guernica Prize. A freelance journalist, editor, and copywriter based in Toronto, he was longlisted for the 2022 CNFC Creative Nonfiction Contest and recently received funding from Canada Council for his next novel.
