WRITER/MENTEE
I’m a South Asian writer who was born in India and is currently residing in Waterloo,
Ontario—the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee
peoples. I have written for Bolo! Bolo! A Collection of Writings by Second Generation
South Asians Living in North America and Grain Magazine. An excerpt of my short
fiction was selected by the CBC in a national contest to be workshopped online by
author André Alexis. I enjoyed reading a passage of Fumbles, Rumbles, and Roars at
the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity as part of my writing residency in fall 2022.
While I am a young creative fiction writer, I have cultivated my storytelling abilities
through Simon Fraser University’s Writer’s Studio program, workshops at The Creative
Academy for Writers, a creative writing course with author and performer, Ivan Coyote,
my Honours B.A. in English Literature, and a decade of journalistic writing.
