Deepa Shankaran
WRITER/MENTEE
Deepa Shankaran is a Toronto-based writer and editor, and a graduate of the Humber School for Writers. She was a finalist in the 2012 Toronto Star Short Story Contest. Her fiction has appeared in the Rusty Toque, a literary journal published by the University of Western Ontario, and she is currently at work on a novel, with support from the Toronto Arts Council. She also holds an MA in Gender and Development from the University of Sussex, and has published on the subjects of religious fundamentalism, forced displacement and youth empowerment.
