Denise Barnard
WRITER/MENTEE
Denise has published fiction in a variety of literary journals, including Prairie Fire, The New Quarterly, Pagitica, McGill Street, and White Wall Review, as well as in SightLines 8 Anthology (Prentice Hall Canada), a language arts anthology used in high schools across Canada. She has also published non-fiction in the Globe and Mail. She attended the Banff Centre’s Wired Writing Studio, and her first play, This Life, premiered at SummerWorks Theatre Festival in Toronto. She participated in Diaspora Dialogues’ mentoring program in 2006; her story “Caribana” was published in TOK 2 (2007). She has plans to write a book in future. She is a certified consulting hypnotist and is completing her life coach certification at the Centre for Applied Neuroscience. Denise lives in Toronto with her husband and family.
