Dolly Reisman

Dolly Reisman has written primarily for stage for both adult and young audiences. Mr. Nice Guy was co-written with Tom Walmsley and produced by Necessary Angel. Nothing But the Truth, co-written with Judy Silver, has been very successful promoting racial tolerance; Girls Can Boys Can has toured Ontario; and she both wrote and produced the two-woman show Skin and Bones for the Edmonton Fringe Festival. Reisman wrote and co-produced Walk Foot Man, a short film about a Jamaican couple living in Toronto. It won a silver medal at the Chicago Film Festival and an honourable mention at the Festival Mondial du Cinema de Courts Metrages. Angel Light, a short film about a teenage girl and her deaf sister was produced in 1999 and stars Sheila McCarthy. Reisman has just finished a play about Albert Speer, Hitler’s architect. She’s working on a novel and a book of connected short stories. The short story “DOBA” was included in TOK 2 and an excerpt from her novel, The Rituals of Morning, was published in the Maple Tree Literary Supplement, issue 3.
