Naya S. Valdellon
WRITER/MENTEE
Naya S. Valdellon grew up in Manila, Philippines. She moved to Canada in 2006 to take her M.A. in English and Creative Writing at the University of Toronto, where she worked under the guidance of Rosemary Sullivan and Anne Michaels. Her poetry has won the Meritage Press Poetry Contest, Hart House Review Poetry Prize, and the Carlos Palanca Award for Literature. She writes about the city, correspondences, and distances, and dearly misses her Siamese cat named Metaphor.
