Cynthia Holz
WRITER/MENTOR
Cynthia Holz is the author of five novels and a collection of short stories. She was born and raised in New York City and came to Toronto in 1976 as the Canadian correspondent for Business Week magazine.
She began publishing short stories in 1980, and since then her work has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. Her essays, blogs and book reviews can be seen in The Globe and Mail, The Ottawa Citizen, Quill & Quire, and The National Post.
She was Writer-in-Residence for the Toronto Public Library in 1999 and taught creative writing at Ryerson University in Toronto for nearly twenty years. She has also been a mentor for emerging Toronto writers in Diaspora Dialogues’ Long Form Mentoring Program in 2011, 2012 and 2013. She lives in Toronto.
