Join Diaspora Dialogues on October 5th, 2019, for Nuit Blanche at the Scarborough Civic Centre, Skate Room.

In 2018, DD partnered with Orpheus Choir of Toronto to adapt four poems into choral music for the Raising Her Voice concert. Poets include Phoebe Wang, Shadi Eskandani, Priscila Uppal and Yaya Yao; and choral composers Katerina Gimo, Christine Donkine. Anika-France Forget and Tawnie Olson

Diaspora Dialogues will be presenting “Remixing The Night” as a sound and visual installation that continues this process of adaptation. Join Scarborough based DJ’s, Martian and Eric Slyfield along with graphic artist Dominika Grzesik as they remix the original choral compositions into contemporary audio and visual adaptations. Attendees will have the opportunity to manipulate the visual projections that reflect the sound in the room.

As a primarily literary organization with a mandate to bring artistic, cultural and geographic communities together, Diaspora Dialogues is excited to partner with Nuit Blanche for the twelfth year in a row.
