Jo Jefferson is a writer who recently moved from Nova Scotia to Toronto on her fiftieth birthday. Her poetry, short fiction, and non-fiction have appeared in a variety of magazines, anthologies, collections, and projects. Her first novel, Lightning and Blackberries, was released by Nimbus Publishing in 2008. She writes about history, maps, queerness, desire, homesickness, travel, and family. When she is not writing or reading, Jo does personal support work, plays music, makes zines, works at queer summer camp, explores the world, and facilitates workshops with curious creators of all ages.
